Hello to all of my fellow bloggers and vloggers (video bloggers). As we all know both the aforementioned are extremely popular these days but depending on what you do, who your target is, and of course your goals should help determine whether you to choose to do one, the other, or both. For me, a publicist and person who loves to write, blogging is a no brainer, but also having training in media arts (specifically video broadcasting) vlogging is somewhat attractive too.
I’ve noticed how vlogging has taken the world wide web by storm and average Joe’s or Jane’s like Funky Dineva, DiamondsAndHeels14 and Elle Fowler have gained massive followings, product placement and spokesperson and opportunities, and the list goes on… Similarly bloggers like Jenny Lawson and BryanBoy who’ve both taken the blogging world by storm in their respective industries all cause for at least some thought as to whether you should you blog or vlog.
Personally, I think it’s based upon lifestyle, convenience, audience, and content. Obviously if you’re doing a “how-to” it would be more beneficial to have a video that shows a process step by step. But, when it comes to discussion, food for thought, or good old conversation, I think blogging is a home run. Let’s face it, you read my blog and any others you follow it’s because you probably like to read and enjoy the content. If you primarily follow vlogs, you probably enjoy TV a bit more there reading. Nonetheless both vlogging and blogging are great tools for reaching mass audiences and increasing exposure. Who are your favorite bloggers and vloggers?
Here is a list of my Top 3: Beware! I am partial towards fashion and beauty
