-Tip 1: Define Your Brand
How do you want your customers to see your brand? Innovative, Simple, Savvy, Creative? What is the one thing that you want your brand to be known for? What makes your brand different from competitors? Answering these questions will give you a clearer idea of your brand’s vision, purpose, and value proposition.
Tip 2: Keep it Simple
What matters most is how your business will benefit people directly; all the nitty-gritty details will cause them to move on to a product that seems easier to understand. Create a brand voice that is easy to identify with and resonates with your audience.
Tip 3: Create Brand Voice
Think of the Los Angeles Lakers, and a picture of Kobe Bryant likely pops into your mind. This is not just because Kobe is the face of The Lakers. It is because all the images in the Lakers’ advertisements supported this persona with adjectives that represent athleticism and confidence. Kobe himself communicated the same message on and off the court. I love Kobe… by the way.
Tip 4: Brand, Brand, Brand
Remind your audience about your brand. Don’t assume that all your customers will remember what your brand stands for. Rome was not built in a day, and neither was Vogue’s brand – it took decades of strategic marketing for Vogue to reach where they are today. If you want your brand to be known for something, you need to remind your customers again, and again, and again.
Remind them via Tweeting, Facebook, Email, Advertising, etc….
Tip 5: Think Big
Being a small business does not mean that you can’t run with the big dogs! Your brand is essential in helping your small business be portrayed as a serious player. Think big with your brand, and use it to capture potential clients and win their trust.
